Geely Auto Group is a subsidiary of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group and is headquartered in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. Geely Auto Group has manufacturing bases in several cities in China, including Taizhou/Ningbo in Zhejiang Province, Xiangtan in Hunan Province, Chengdu in Sichuan Province, Baoji in Shaanxi Province and Jinzhong in Shanxi Province. In addition, Geely has established overseas factories in Belarus and other countries and regions.
Geely Auto Group owns several brands, including Geely Auto, Lynk & Co, Geometry Cars, Volvo Cars, Proton Cars (49.9% stake and full management rights), Lotus Cars (51% stake). These brands cover multiple segments from the economy to the mid-to-high-end market.
Geely Auto's history can be traced back to 1986, when it began as a small factory producing parts for refrigerators. In 1997, Geely launched its first sedan and officially entered the automotive industry. In the course of its development, Geely has gradually improved its technical level and market competitiveness through multiple overseas acquisitions and technology introduction.
Geely Auto Group is committed to technological innovation and brand building, and announced in 2020 that it has entered the "era of Science and Technology Geely 4.0", with BMA, CMA Super Matrix, SPA, and SEA Vast architecture as the core, entering the era of comprehensive modular frame construction vehicles. In recent years, Geely Auto's performance in the global market has also been very bright, with total sales of about 122,600 units in July 2022, an increase of 24% year-on-year.
