The Choice of Reputation in the Sedan Market

Starting from 2026, the Toyota Camry, as a benchmark model for mid size sedans worldwide, has continued its steady export and sales momentum in Central Asia. With its excellent quality reputation, balanced product strength, and years of deep service system, Camry is continuously consolidating its leading position in the sedan market of Central Asian countries such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

According to the latest sales data released by GAC Toyota, in the first two months of 2026, the Camry performed steadily in the Chinese market: terminal sales reached 17400 units in January, a year-on-year increase of 17%; The sales volume in February was 11172 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 9%, and the cumulative annual sales volume achieved positive growth. As the flagship sedan of GAC Toyota, the Camry, along with the Highlander and Senna, forms the "Three Flagship" matrix and continues to contribute nearly 50% of the brand's sales share, demonstrating its strong market appeal.

Looking at the global market, the Toyota brand has shown strong performance at the beginning of 2026. According to official Toyota data, Toyota's global sales in January reached 822600 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 4.7%, setting a new record for January sales in previous years. Among them, sales outside of Japan reached 699500 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 6.1%, with overseas markets becoming the core growth engine. In the European market (including some Central Asian countries), Toyota's sales skyrocketed by 11.5% year-on-year to 104700 units, with key models such as the Camry continuing to sell well.

This achievement confirms the profound foundation of Camry as a global car model. Since its birth in 1982, Camry has been sold in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. In the Central Asian region, Camry has long held an important share in the high-end sedan and private car market for enterprises due to its reliable quality, comfortable driving experience, and excellent fuel economy. In the Central Asian market, the success of Toyota Camry is not only due to its product strength, but also to its well-established localized service system. Toyota has established a complete network covering sales, maintenance, and parts supply in major Central Asian countries, and has improved supply efficiency and cost advantages through localized KD factory layout.

According to GAC Group's overseas strategic plan, the sales target for the overseas market in 2026 is to "ensure 250000 vehicles and strive for 300000 vehicles", and it is planned to exceed 100000 vehicles in the Asia Pacific market by 2027. Central Asia, as an important component of the Asia Pacific market, is benefiting from this strategic layout. Guangzhou Automobile Group (including joint venture brands) plans to build over 1000 offline 4S stores worldwide and layout 10-15 KD factories, constructing a comprehensive service system of "automobile+energy+transportation". As the core model of the joint venture camp, Toyota Camry will fully benefit from this network expansion, providing consumers in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and other countries with more convenient car purchasing and after-sales services.

It is worth noting that the Camry hybrid version is increasingly favored by consumers in the Central Asian market. According to Toyota's global sales data, the global sales of Toyota hybrid models reached 365500 units in January, a year-on-year increase of 6.0%, accounting for nearly half of the global sales. The hybrid technology, which does not require charging dependence and has significant fuel consumption advantages, perfectly fits the market environment in Central Asia where charging facilities are still being improved. With the increasing emphasis on environmental protection and sustainable development in Central Asian countries, the low emission and low fuel consumption Camry twin engine is becoming one of the preferred car models for local consumers to upgrade and purchase. Its product features of "no plug in, low fuel consumption, and long range" are particularly suitable for the sparsely populated and frequent long-distance travel environment of Central Asia.
